Economic Development and Tourism Department required a bold new approach through messaging and unique visual style to set Durham Region apart from other municipalities.

As an 'emerging power' in the Greater Toronto Area, Durham Region has one of the fastest growing populations in Canada with approximately 600,000 residents in 2006 and a forecasted population of around one million people by 2031. This growth was the main driver to rebrand the Economic Development and Tourism Department with new print literature, corporate video presentation, sector brochures, direct mail campaigns and advertising to position Durham Region as an emerging power and get the message out.

Sector brochures highlighting the key benefits for manufacturing, agriculture, energy, real estate and tourism through powerful images and bold simple copy offers the reader all the key information required. Colour coding each sector defined their unique business opportunity and also created an exciting colour palette that reflects the many areas of Durham Region.
Roll-up banners for use at trade shows and events boldly showcase key areas of Durham Region and connects with the overall look and feel of the new brand. The bright colours and visual impact of the banners strengthen the key messages and stand out to be noticed.
An introduction video to Durham Region and to deliver the key message that we have the land, location, people, support systems and balanced living that makes us the choice to make our region your home. The use of testimonial video of business leaders to support their decision of making Durham Region their home is a vital part of making this video successful.
